## LOG ACCESS ENABLED - MAIN ENGINEERING, U.S.S. CORAX ##
Commence Chief Engineer's Personal Log, Master Chief Petty Officer D'Kmal, U.S.S. Corax:
The refit is generally going well - clearly someone at the Phoenix Station, or at least whoever supplied the parts, has a good understanding of our ship's technology - I've had no problems integrating the upgraded components into our systems, or at least what's left of them; it was easier to just tear out and completely replace most of them with the years od bodging, patching and bypassing that held the Corax together.
I sent the technology and all our findings from the other universe to DobCo Industries back in the [REDACTED] repository - they taught me everything I know, and convinced me to sign on the Expedited Engineering Enlistment course at Starfleet, so I did owe them one. Hopefully they can have better luck with the Spatial Manipulation "Jump" Drive than I can.
Some of these upgrades are actually incredible - it's amazing they can work with this ship! Either the designer was too uninspired and made a vague ship hull that's very adaptable, or they were a mastermind of engineering design, you decide! I mean there's amazing things like the new stealth systems, such as the [REDACTED], and the entirely reworked [REDACTED] that allow us to [REDACTED] provided we have [REDACTED - ENTIRE SECTION REMOVED], which reminds me of the time that the Admiral went to Risa and went off with that group of Ferasan athletes..... hang on, this a publicly accessible log isn't it? Perhaps not.... ugggh, I've already said too much...
Well in that case, I might as well get everything else off my chest - the Admiral has no idea of the time it actually takes to refit a ship, even with my... lenient application of safety protocols (all good engineer's are conservative on paper, we can afford to cut a few corners), and is pushing the crew harder than a Breen slave operation; the "specialists" from Phoenix Station are absolute scrubs who have no idea how to do even the most basic engineering operat..... no, Crewman, that's the business end of the plasma torch! I swear, what I'd give for Ensign Bumsechs to be here, rather than on medical leave... I hope he gets better soon, cumonyafasciitis is a nasty illness. I'm gonna take a break guys, finish up here.

Well, now I'm safely back in my office, the one area of the ship I know isn't monitored by anyone, I can take this time to go on about the new "intelligence" officer... shadiest son of a targ I ever saw, I'm telling you. He seems to be taking particular interest in my personal database aboard the Chelmer, but I tell you, he's never gonna get past that Runabout's encryption after I let Epsilon enhance it's systems! It's been good working with Epsilon, we haven't really worked with each other in a long time, probably since before the Corax, honestly... maybe even as far back as the [REDACTED]? No, it couldn't've been that long ago?
Either way, my personal projects are coming along nicely - I claimed Cargo Bay 4 as my own personal workshop, as it was the only bay big enough to fit a Parts Replicator in, and I've got the Chelmer and a few other... "projects"... on the go in there. The salvaged [REDACTED] systems are literally a life-saver! I've turned down the offer to be issued quarters, I prefer to live in my Runabout; I offered them up for reallocation. I'm sure some Ensign will love having their own quarters!
We should be getting ready to launch any minute, all the major system upgrades are done, it's just finishing calibrations and diagnostics that can be done whilst we're rolling - I suppose I'd bett- hmmm, an alarms just gone off in Engineering... oh my..... what are they doing? I'd better get. . . . CHIEF D'KMAL TO DAMAGE CONTROL, FIRE IN MAIN ENGINEERING! REPAIR CREWS ON STANDBY!
I'd, ah, better go, ah for the love of... Computer, unseal the door, end recording!
