Subject: Auron (Zeta Callisto III)
::Planetary Specifications::
- Classification: Class M (Minshara)
- Distance from sun: 1.3 AU
- Diameter: 1.2000 km
- Gravity: 1.1
- Atmosphere: Oxygen/Nitrogen Atmosphere, High Surface Radiation
- Weather system: Violent Radiation Storms, Acid Rain and Heavy winds
- Temp.: -10C to 30C
- Surface: 70% Water, 30% Landmass, Flora and Fauna with Heavy Mountainous Regions
- Lifeforms: Believed Uninhabited
- Tech. level: None
- Specials: Auron was decimated by radiation from a former civilization.
::History::
Auron was once a rich, rather unremarkable Earth-like world in the Zeta Callisto Star System and home to the Auronia Civilization. The Auronia were a proud, technologically developed people who had separated in several countries on the planets surface.
However all trace of the Auronia Civilization was wiped out as early as 1206 when a believed nuclear war devastated the planet and destroyed the civilization.
Radiation has now diminished to the point where Auron is capable of supporting life however surface radiation on the planet is still present on the planet and the local wildlife and fauna has been irrevocably changed due to this event.
In 2396, the U.S.S. Corax, after an encounter with a being known as "The One" crashed on Auron.
::Environmental::
Auron has a rich oxygen/nitrogen atmosphere and supports a wide variety of different species of plant and animal life however due to the nuclear events on the planet, most of Auron is now a wasteland of scattered, ruined cities and infertile soil where nothing can grow.
The water table of Auron has also been heavily contaminated and any surface water on the planet is slightly acidic with a heavy radioactive signature.
::Botanical::
Most of the plantlife located on Auron is now dead, with many trees, completely lifeless littering the landscape with no describable foliage. Some species of planetlife have been able to resist and even adapt to the changes in the climate and have mutated in many different ways.
::Zoological::
Most of the animal life on this planet has perished since the incident that destroyed the Auronia Civilization leaving behind many fossils and carcasses, hideously mutated due to nuclear fallout. New generations of animals have become horribly mutated due to the radiation and are considered extremely dangerous.
