The U.S.S. Mexico was destroyed at all hands by the True Way yesterday morning while attempting to give relief supplies to outlying Cardassian colonies and the Federation Council feels that we cannot delay this any longer.
We are assembling a fleet at Deep Space Nine to aid the Cardassian Military which are now operating out of the Sheraona System. We believe that by allying with the legitimate Cardassian government we can quickly bring an end to this insurrection.
Fleet Captain Ramierez of the Mexico was believed to have been captured and taken to Cardassia Prime. Obviously, Fleet Captain Ramierez was briefed on the plan of attack for retaking Cardassia Prime and we cannot allow the True Way to obtain this information.
We are therefore, reluctantly sending the Corax into Cardassian space and to Cardassia Prime in order to rescue Fleet Captain Ramierez. Your secondary objective will be to disrupt the Cardassian capital power grid which will disarm all defensive emplacements around the planet.
However your first objective takes the most priority, under NO circumstances can the True Way learn anything from Fleet Captain Rameirez and if extraction seems likely, you are to use all force necessary to prevent him from providing the True Way with information.
The Fate of the Alpha Quadrant and the Cardassian Union is in your hands Captain...
