Attempting to get home from the Omarian Nebula after the failed Coaxial Jump, the Corax encounters an opening of the Barzan Wormhole.
With the possibility of returning to the Alpha Quadrant, the crew decide to use the opening however a solar flare from the nearby star causes the wormhole to fracture and deposits the Corax over an O-Class Planet in the Delta Quadrant.
A heavily damaged Corax crashes on the top of the ocean of this world and slowly begins to sink. Faced with limited options, the crew decides to search for an alternate source of deuterium to keep the ship afloat and possibly leave the planet.
However shocking revelations come about when an old saucer on the sea floor is discovered containing the name U.S.S. Republic, NCC-1307-C and the crew discover that the deuterium from the crashed saucer is leaking into the ocean and killing a pre-warp aquatic civilization.
The crew must face the harsh realities of their past and come to a decision about the future of this alien world.
